Well the job at Austin Home Health progressed faster than I thought! Last week they offered me a RN Case Management position! That happened a lot sooner than I thought but Derek and I are both very excited! I start in my new position this next Thursday! I will miss the wonderful people that are at Round Rock Medical Center but I am really looking forward to learning new things!

Well it has been a few months since we have updated this. Derek now works for Compass bank as a Senior Sales Financial Officer. He is really enjoying working there! We are excited to have him working normal hours again! I currently still working for Round Rock Medical Center but I only work three days a week there. Many days I get pretty bored when Derek is at work and not being that big of a fan of cleaning my house that much I picked up another job. I also work for Austin Home Health! I have really been loving it! It is a nice change of pace from a hospital and it is not 12 hour shifts! That is one of the reasons why nursing has been so great, there are so many things that you can do! My goal is to eventually become a case manager!

This last Thursday Derek and I got the chance to go to McKinney Falls State Park. There are several different trails that you can take. Derek and I went on the Rock shelter trail and split half way through to another trail that you could go and see one of the waterfalls. They have not had much rain this year so it was not as big as before but it was still a lot of fun to be out!
This is just below the rock shelter.
I thought this was a fun picture of Derek jumping!
I just thought that this was a fun picture!

There is a bridge in Austin that at a certain time at night hundreds of bats fly out. Sounds like fun huh? Well it smelled a little funny but it was still fun to see. There are a few fun pictures too!
Ben was pretty tired, he fell asleep in the car on the way there and didn't wake up!

Well this summer is going by quickly. I have finally been able to upload some pictures on to my computer, so now starts the updates! First in June Megan came up with her boys!
We have a sprinkler park close to our house. Ben was a little timid until Megan helped him go through a few times and then away he went!
Jacob was fearless from the start! Sam had fun running around, slowly he got in!
More pictures to come later!

I am getting my tonsils taken out today. This is the card Rachel sent.
Dear Jenny's Danglie Ball,
This is a notice to let you know we will be renovating your area soon. We will be removing the crowding tonsil, and thus moving back your walls to give you move space. No more crowding, so you can be the lovely danglie ball that you are!
Here's to wide open danglie ball spaces and no more sick tonsils!! May you dangle away!
Hope you feel better,
That made me laugh so I wanted to share!

So somewhere along the line Derek and I got a bench that his parents use to have. It is a cute bench but did not really go with anything in our house. So we changed it! I think it turned out pretty good for never doing anything like this before!
So the bench looks a little lumpy here. The fabric was actually one of the curtains what we had in our old apartment!

As we have been working on setting up our house I have had the chance to try my hand at decorating. My ideas always look better in my head than the final project. Also I always just end up staring at what I have done and I cant make up my mind if I like or not. Anyway this was my latest project.

So as promised updates on Derek's job. He makes appointments for people to learn about the product that his company sells. He has been there for less than a month and they already have him training new people that are coming in. He had a meeting with the two guys that own the company about what their plans are for the future of the company. They are really impressed with Derek and actually offered him a manager position! After they have enough people to take over what he is doing he will take the new position! The first few months while he is working on getting things going are going to be hard long days but soon he will be working the wonderful hours of 9-5! I am so proud of him! He is such a hard worker! I will add more updates at they come.

This is in our living room. We still have unpacking to do so we will take more pictures when the rooms are actually done! On top of the book cases I am going to put some plants I am just trying to figure out what ones would look good. I am still trying to figure out how to make it look better. Any ideas?

Well on March 3rd we closed on our house at 5:00 pm and moved in that night! Our house is slowly coming together. We finally got internet last week so we now feel connected to the world again! We will have a home phone this Saturday! We are still in the process of unpacking so I have not found the cord to upload all my pictures yet but more pictures will come!
Work is going well. It is a big change from what I am use to. I went from having no more than 4 patients to 5-6 patients. That one extra patient makes a difference and then add another one to that. The stress level is different too. The patients now are not as sick so mentally it is not as stressful but because I have more patients there is a lot more to do so I am running pretty much all day. The stress has just changed. When I go home I am just tired not worn out. Every job in nursing is hard just in different ways.
About Derek's job I will post more later there are still a few decisions that have to be made.
We are enjoying it here! We are close to some of Derek's family. I see his sister Jessica a few times a week and I am really enjoying getting to know her more.

So here are a few more pictures of our home. It is not a big home but a cute starter home.
Master bathroom shower and tub, not the best picture but you get the point
kitchen, through the kitchen you can see the living room and the lovely closet doors that have not been put on yet, and our front door
well as you guessed this is the stove
our back yard
We are wanting to be able to plant a garden on this side
just another view of the back yard.
So a few things that they still have to do is put the carpet in, put gutters on, put sprinkler system in, put the blinds in, put the grass in... and a few more touch ups
